Results from the Bluestone Memorial event

Group A

Coach Nordby barely hung on for 1st place after badly straining his Achilles tendon again … Landry Nfonsam also survived a 3-way tie with Chinoz and Gustavo for 2nd place.

Group B

Roy Laronde had fairly serious surgery on Wednesday and refused to pull out and still did very well surviving several 5 gamers…ChaeSun Jimenez had some good wins considering her annual Seattle vacation kept her away from practice the past few weeks.

Group C

Yair Vargas (Mexico) continues to show steady improvement along with excellent technique as he won all the close matches to take 1st … Luc Longpré finally started winning the close ones late in the day to finish an impressive 2nd.

Group D

Kali Goring (Abq) easily took 1st after suffering a tough 5-game loss to Yair in the preliminary round-robin… Fred Velasquez (Abq) played his 1st USATT tourney and played well to take 2nd.

U-3500 doubles

1st in U-3500 Doubles goes to Gustavo and Luc who narrowly defeated Chinoz and Yair as well as Roy and ChaeSun.
